On cold autumn and winter days, I love to make myself an afternoon cup of tea. Generally I make a simple cup of black tea with honey and milk, but occasionally I like to make something extra special like this vanilla Earl Grey latte.
Vanilla Earl Grey lattes are easy to make. All you need is water, milk, Earl Grey tea bags, sugar, and vanilla extract.
If you order one of these out at a coffee shop, it will likely have frothed milk on top; however, for this simple recipe, the milk is whisked in so it will be a little frothy, but not like a coffee shop.
When making this tea latte, I measure the water and milk with the mugs I'm going to be serving the drinks in so that I have enough to fill them. Mugs can be such very different sizes, so this ensures that both people get a full cup of tea.
I use sugar to sweeten this latte. You can use honey if you prefer. If you happen to have vanilla sugar around, that would be a nice choice to add even more vanilla flavor.
I used 2% milk here. You can use your preferred milk that you have on hand. Plant-based milks will also work in these lattes.
Give these vanilla Earl Grey tea lattes a try the next time you want to curl up with a book or movie on a chilly day, or just need a little afternoon pick-me-up!
These lattes go perfectly with a sweet treat as well. Cookies, muffins, brownies, or anything else you love to have for a snack.

ReplyDeleteYou're so right about Earl Grey, it's lovely on its own, but making it into a latte? Such a treat.
I am in the exact same book reading spot as you - I've always devoured books and am a real book lover, but lately, any book I pick up is just MEH. I can't find anything that'll WOW me. It's very disappointing. And I don't need fireworks either, just a good solid book that I REALLY LIKE.
If you find anything, do let me know!
The only 'foodie' book I've read I think is Chocolat, have you read that? One of my all time favourite stories.
I haven't read Chocolat - great suggestion. Thanks! And thanks for stopping by :-)
